Midwest Construction is a science fiction convention aimed at the people who plan science fiction conventions. Focusing on the running of local and regional cons, Midwest Construction is open to anyone interested in con running, although an emphasis will be placed on con running within the Midwest and immediately adjacent areas as well as building a greater sense of community in Midwest fandom.

Workshops, discussions, panels, and food. Midwest Construction will examine con-running topics from hotel relations to selecting guests, developing strong programing, to building membership. Midwest construction draws on the knowledge of its membership to create a weekend of cross disciplinary education and entertainment.

Midwest Construction IV will be held September 16-18, 2005 at the Sheraton Suites Country Club Plaza. Reduced price room rates are $104 per night. Reservations can be made by calling (816) 931-4400 or online.
